Movie based on Giannis Antetokounmpo and his family to premiere on Disney+ in 2022
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- New details have been released about a Disney+ original movie inspired by Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The movie, "Rise," is based on the triumphant real life story about the remarkable family that produced the first trio of brothers to become NBA champions in the history of the league– Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo -- according to Disney.

"Rise" is being directed by Akin Omotoso (Vaya), with Bernie Goldmann producing and Giannis Antetokounmpo executive producing.
The film -- first titled "Greek Freak" but changed to "Rise" -- mixes Nigerian heritage, Greek nationality, and extraordinary athletic ability, according to launghingplace.com.
Uche Agada will star as Giannis alongside his real-life brother, Ral Agada, playing Thanasis.
"Rise" is set to debut in 2022. A subscription to Disney+ will be required to watch it.
