MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 20-year-old stabbing suspect is in custody after Mount Pleasant Police say he tried to get away by jumping from a window.
It happened in the area of Northeast Frontage Road near 2 Mile Road around 3:30 a.m. September 20. The caller told police someone stabbed his brother.
When officers arrived, they tried to speak with anyone inside the residence and a suspect emerged on the rooftop. After negotiations, a 39-year-old Mount Pleasant man with obvious injuries came out of the residence. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
When police tried to find the suspect, they learned he had jumped from a second-story window. The suspect was found hiding in a field north of the residence and taken to the Racine County Jail. Police say the suspect also had an active warrant for his arrest from Probation and Parole.
The investigation is ongoing.
