Motorcyclist killed after hitting deer in Manitowoc County

EATON, Wis. -  (WFRV) A motorcyclist has died after hitting a deer in Manitowoc County. 

At 10:11 p.m. on June 7, deputies responded to a motorcycle vs. deer crash on STH 67 north of Cedar Road in the Town of Eaton.

Investigators say that a 19-year-old was driving his 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he took evasive action to avoid a deer, but struck the deer and was thrown from the bike. 

He was airlifted to Theda Clark Hospital due to incapacitating injuries. 

The next day, he was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the crash. He was identified as Joshua Leonard from Manitowoc. 

Leonard was not said to be wearing a helmet during the crash.
