Motorcyclist Dies after Weekend Crash

On Saturday, August 22 at about 02:30 AM Walworth County Sheriff's Deputies and Fire/Resce Units responded to report of a motorcycle crash on Hwy ES just west of Kadad Lane in Troy Township.

Initial investigation reveals that Vernon Shaner 48, from Waukesha, was traveling Westbound on Hwy ES and had just passed a pickup truck on his 1987 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcycle entered the curve and left the roadway, slid on the grass and crashed into a power pole.

Shaner received critical injuries as a result of the crash. Rescue efforts were administered by both police and rescue personnel. Shaner was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team.
