MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- More than 300 bikers are expected to attend a motorcycle ride Saturday that supports law enforcement families when their loved ones are killed in the line of duty.

Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel will lead the ride with police department motor officers right behind him.

The ride starts at the House of Harley-Davidson's Milwaukee location, goes over the Hoan Bridge and up Lake Drive.

Opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m. with the ride starting at 10 a.m. The ride raises money for the Wisconsin Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors, which supports the families of fallen officers.

“Concerns of Police Survivors was founded in 1984 and exists to minister to and provide support services to the family members and co-workers who have lost an officer in the line of duty” says Denise Held, Board Member - WI Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors. “Our hearts are heavy today as we learned that the Milwaukee Police Department lost an officer in the line of duty yesterday evening. Through generous support, the Wisconsin Chapter of C.O.P.S. will be there to help this officer's family members and co-workers honor their loved one's sacrifice and rebuild their shattered lives. Heroes are NEVER forgotten.”

“We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Milwaukee Police Officer, Charles Irving Jr.,” says Jeff Binkert president of House of Harley-Davidson. “Our thoughts go out to his family, Rest in Peace.”
Registration is available online Friday or onsite from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
