UPDATE: Motorcycle driver dead after crash with pickup in Dodge County

WESTFORD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The motorcyclist who died in the crash has been identified as Derek Lemkuil a 35-year-old man from Beaver Dam. The driver of the pickup is John Gerbensky a 57-year-old man from rural Beaver Dam.

WESTFORD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- On Friday, September 1 at 5:19 a.m. the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car crash on County Highway G at the intersection with Sunny Point Road, in Westford.

Preliminary investigation shows that a GMC pickup was driving south on Sunny Point Road approaching a stop sign at the intersection with Highway G. A motorcycle was traveling west on Highway G approaching the same intersection when the GMC entered the cross way and the two collided.

The man driving the motorcycle was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The man driving the pickup was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
