Mostly staying away from frost and freeze after last week's cold blast
Milwaukee typically sees the first freeze of the season in the last ten days of the month of October. And that came true this year with lows dropping into the low to middle 30s at the end of last week. Milwaukee had its first frost of 36 degrees or colder on Friday morning then saw the first freeze on Saturday when the low dropped to 32. We are still waiting on the first killing freeze of 28 or colder in most areas.
After the chilly start to Saturday we saw highs stay cool only warming to 50 degrees with some decent clouds and a few isolated showers and downpours rolling through. Sunday was a warmer day with highs in the mid 50s under a sunny and breezy sky.
A lake breeze kept temps lakeside mild Monday morning in the upper 40s but inland areas weren't as lucky with a frost and freeze in some areas in the 30s. We mostly stay away from frost/freeze concerns Tuesday and Wednesday morning waking up in the 40s but Thursday and Friday mornings could see a patchy frost inland and Saturday could see a widespread frost inland and even a patchy freeze.
With no major storm systems this week that means we stay away from rain and snow chances, but it also means the high temperatures stay pretty steady. Highs hang out in the mid 50s all week long.
