Moran’s and Azteca bars to host last World Cup block party for final game Sunday

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- James Moran is passionate about soccer and his pub in South Milwaukee. That’s been the perfect combination as the World Cup is gaining excitement around the world.

Moran’s Pub has been named one of the top places in the country to watch the game by USA Today.

As Spain and Argentina kick off for the final game on Sunday at 2 p.m., Moran’s and Azteca on Milwaukee Avenue in South Milwaukee will host their sixth and final watch party.

The block will be closed off, a Jumbotron will play the game, a DJ will hype the fans, and many will show up early to stake out a spot.

Moran, who grew up in Birmingham, England, wanted to bring the excitement of World Cup soccer to Milwaukee, and he’s done just that by drawing everyone from lifelong supporters to first-time fans.

"It's a mixture of different people -- some are die-hard soccer fans, and some have never watched a game before, but they know it's a community event,” said Moran.

The final watch party is the last chance for fans to come together and celebrate the world's biggest soccer tournament.
