Mitchell Park Domes to reopen on Sept. 26 with advanced registration system
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Mitchell Park Domes will reopen to the public on Sept. 26, with reduced hours and an advanced registration system.
After closing in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the tropical dome, desert dome, and floral show dome will reopen with the fall show 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,' according to a press release.
All three domes will open be open Wednesday-Friday from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
Before visiting, guests will need to reserve a time slot at www.mitchellparkdomes.com. The reservation system will begin accepting advance reservations beginning Sept. 16. No walk-up admissions will be allowed at this time.
A maximum of 45 visitors will be admitted during each 20-minute window.
To help keep staff and visitors safe, masks will be required, and visitors will follow a one-way route through the three domes.
"No matter the weather outside, the Domes offer a warm, welcoming space for people to connect to nature, and we have a lot of fans that are excited to explore our great indoors again after a long six-month wait," said Doris Maki, director of the Mitchell Park Domes.
As part of the Sleepy Hollow theme, guests will be given a chance to explore a colonial autumn garden to find clues to unravel the mystery of the Headless Horseman.
