MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Holiday travel is about to gear up again and officials at Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport say there are now more options for travelers.
The airport is expecting more than 250,000 travelers between now and the end of the year.
There are now new, non-stop flight locations and more flights taking off from Mitchell. Officials say this has contributed significantly to the airport's growth this year.
"So far this year, passenger traffic is up nearly 10% from the same period in 2022. We have already passed the 5 million passenger mark for this year, and we have a good shot at breaking the 6 million mark by the end of this year," said Brian Dranzik, airport director.
If you're flying out of Milwaukee or have family coming into town for the holiday, remember to wait to wrap gifts in case TSA needs to look inside. And as always, you are encouraged to arrive at least two hours before your flight.
