MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say the body of a child found in a dumpster near 55th and Vliet Thursday morning, Oct. 26, is missing 5-year-old Prince McCree. Authorities are now investigating his death as a homicide.

Prince McCree was reported missing Wednesday afternoon. He was last seen at his home near 54th and Meinecke, about nine blocks away, around 9 a.m.

According to the family, Prince's father took a nap, and when he woke up, Prince was gone. The father said off camera that his son was a good kid and wouldn't have walked away by himself.

Family surrounded both locations Thursday morning, all too distraught to talk.

"There were family members who drove here from Illinois last night, as soon as they heard Prince was missing."

State Senator LaTonya Johnson knows the family and says other people lived in the home.

Police arrested a 27-year-old man and 15-year-old boy in connection to the homicide.

"As far as I know, they lived there. They've always been respectful."

The cause of death is under investigation.
