Miss South Central crowned as Miss Wisconsin 2023 in Oshkosh 👑

OSHKOSH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Lila Szyryj, a 21-year-old from Madison, won the Miss Wisconsin 2023 title on Saturday, June 24.

Representing Miss South Central, Szyryj competed against 24 other candidates at Alberta Kimball Auditorium. She will receive $12,500 in scholarships, $750 in additional awards and the opportunity to compete in the Miss America 2024 pageant.

Szyryj performed Chopin's "Revolutionary Etude" during the talent phase and presented a community service initiative focused on media literacy. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Brenda Baudo, executive director of the Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Organization, expressed enthusiasm for Szyryj's victory, stating in a Saturday press release, "Her energy and enthusiasm for the organization is apparent and we look forward to her serving as Miss Wisconsin 2023."

Reigning Miss America 2023, Grace Stanke, of Wausau, along with the outgoing Miss Wisconsin 2022, Kylene Elizabeth Spanbauer of Fond du Lac, joined 25 other former Miss Wisconsin winners in attending the event, as a gesture to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the state pageant in Oshkosh.
