Minnesota Man Charged with Crawling into Fitting Room Stall

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A St. Paul man faces a felony charge for allegedly crawling into a fitting room stall at a Kmart store while an 8-year-old girl was trying on clothes.

The Ramsey County Attorney’s office says 27-year-old Bee Vang is charged with one count of interfering with the privacy of a minor under 18 in connection with an incident on Sept. 18 in St. Paul.

The criminal complaint says the young victim was partially naked in a women’s fitting room when she saw a man crawl under the stall. She told police the man quietly reached for her leg.

The girl started to scream and yelled out that a man was in the stall with her. She unlocked the fitting room door and got out, while the suspect crawled back under to another stall and locked himself in.

Police say Vang did not respond to their orders to open the stall, and staff eventually had to unlock it.

Officers found several items in the stall, including a razor blade, several condoms and condom wrappers, a Rice Krispies bar and another Rice Krispies bar stuffed inside a condom.

Police say Vang — who has previous criminal convictions for domestic assault, car theft and a drug offense — has not cooperated with investigators, who had to identify him via fingerprints.

He is currently in Ramsey County Jail. He could face up to two years in prison if convicted.
