Milwaukee's Street Car Project Takes a Big Step Forward

MILWAUKEE - A big step for Milwaukee's Street Car Project.

80-foot "sticks" of the rail were delivered today near Franklin and Knapp in Milwaukee. As the rails are unloaded, N. Franklin Place will be reduced to a single lane and street parking will be restricted. This will happen through Friday, March 24th.

The rails will stay there until they're welded into 320-foot long sections. Crews will weld the rails next month. It should take approximately three days.

Once the welding is completed, the rail will be stored in the east curb lane along Burns Commons until it is installed in Ogden. Construction is scheduled from late June through August of 2017.
