Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport says letters to Santa have arrived in the North Pole

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport set up a mailbox to Santa earlier this month.

The airport asked kids to put letters in the drop box with a return address, and Alaska Airlines would fly them directly to the North Pole.

On Christmas Eve, the airport announced that the letters made it to their destination.

"Santa loved reading all of the wonderful things that the kids in Wisconsin had to say about him!" the airport said in a message shared on social media Thursday.

They said the letters, cards and drawings will be on display at the North Pole for others (and for Santa) to look at and enjoy.
