Milwaukee's Metro Unemployment Rate drops to 4.6%
Milwaukee’s Metro area's unemployment rate dropped the month of August to 4.6% compared to last year’s 5.9%, according to a preliminary release from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In Wisconsin, August 2015 unemployment rates decreased in all 12 metro areas compared to August 2014 with the largest decline of 1.5 percent in Oshkosh-Neenah. The latest rates ranged from 2.8% in metro Madison to 5.1% in metro Racine. Rates also decreased in all 12 metro areas from July 2015 to August 2015.
The August 2015 preliminary rates decreased in the state's 32 largest municipalities compared to August 2014. The latest August rates ranged from 2.7% in Madison and Sun Prairie to 6.6% in Racine. Rates also decreased in all of the 32 largest municipalities from July 2015 to August 2015.
