Milwaukee's French Community Watches in Terror
It's a tough night for everyone including families of the UWM students still unaccounted for in the study abroad program. Earlier tonight CBS 58 spoke with a group of French nationals and French teachers who happened to be meeting at Alliance Française de Milwaukee when the attack happened.
Many felt anxious because they couldn't get ahold of loved ones. The attack happened in the middle of the night in Paris. Many were huddled around the TV when CBS 58 interviewed them.
MA Thomsen has friends in France and says, "When we heard the news we were very shocked. A lot of us have friends and family out there my mind immediately went to people I know in Paris and I'm thinking are my friends there."
Arnaud Koppe from France says, "At the moment I just wait. I can send messages but I know they probably won't answer straight away so it's really frustrating I can't do anything I just have to wait."
The people we spoke with say Paris is a traditionally very safe city and worry this attack will change the feeling of freedom in the city.
