(MILWAUKEE) – Charlie Koenen is not a man ruled by fear. The beekeeper and self-proclaimed “beevangelist” is most at home when surrounded by thousands of the stinging insects, and it’s an attitude he wants to inspire in others that may have misconceptions about the bee’s vital nature.
And this year, Charlie says the cool and rainy spring has created chaos in honey bee colonies including one he manages at Marquette University. Nevertheless Charlie is using the situation as an opportunity to spread the word about the importance of a healthy bee population in urban areas and beyond.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Mike Strehlow puts the work of 'Charlie the Beevangelist' in the Sunday morning spotlight.
