MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee is reviving the Active Streets program.
This was a response to the pandemic last year, blocking off some local streets so more people could walk, run and bicycle when other activities were closed off to them.
Organizers say this year's program is building off their success last year.
"To take these streets and in my mind, almost make them little Mayberrys, for those of you who are older -- remember Andy Griffith. We want that small town experience right here, in a city that's nearly 600,000 people," said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
A survey found a majority of residents wanted to see the program continue.
