MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In anticipation of Mental Health Awareness Month, some of Milwaukee's youth are kicking off a brand-new campaign.
Organized by the Voices of Hope group, the "1More Campaign" focuses on suicide prevention and breaking down the stigma around mental health. The campaign centers around one powerful message: One more conversation. One more check-in. One more text. One more day. One more reason to stay.
"'1More' is just about those small moments that count," said Sanaiah, ambassador. "As someone who has been and continues to struggle at such a pivotal point in my life, in such a transitional period., those small moments where you have a friend to support you or you have parents that listen are some of the most important moments to have in order to prevent those very severe instances."
