Milwaukee Woman Dies From Injuries Sustained During Race in California

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (AP) — A second motorcyclist has died of injuries sustained during a race event at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds.

Then Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/2dcYXKk ) that officials with AMA Pro Racing have confirmed that 17-year-old Kyle McGrane, of Gap, Pennsylvania, died Monday of injuries sustained Sunday during the Ramspur Winery Santa Rosa Mile AMA Pro Flat Track Motorcycle Race.

Sonoma County Sheriff's officials say McGrane's death is the second at the event. The racer who died on Sunday has been identified as 20-year-old Charlotte Kainz of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Kainz died after crashing into another racer during a separate event from McGrane.

AMA Pro Racing CEO Michael Lock says it is rare that anyone dies at a race, let alone two people.
