MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee woman has won the AARP Wisconsin's top volunteer award.
Jan Wilberg, who chairs the Milwaukee County Commission on Aging, received the 2024 AARP Wisconsin Andrus Award for Community Service Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Along with the award, Wilberg was given a $1,000 donation for an organization of her choice.
The 76-year-old was awarded the statewide award based on her lifelong career of service.
"The best part, I think, is elevating older adults and shining a light on what older adults do in the community. I'm really glad I get to do that," said Wilberg.
Wilberg will donate the entire $1,000 donation to Street Angels, a mobile outreach organization that supports those experiencing homelessness.
