MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Hunger Task Force has opened applications for a seasonal voucher program offering low-income seniors in Milwaukee $25 in vouchers for use at local farmers’ markets and community-supported agriculture programs.
Rick Lewandowski, Network Services Director at HTF, joined us on Wednesday, June 4 to discuss details.
He mentioned that eligible applicants aged 60 or older, or 55 for American Indians, can qualify if their income is below $2,413 per month for a one-person household or $3,264 for two.
The program issues one set of vouchers per household, providing five $5 checks to be used through Oct. 31 on Wisconsin-grown fruits, vegetables or herbs.
Applications are now available online at the Hunger Task Force website.
