Milwaukee Residents Fight for A Safer City

People in Milwaukee are taking their fight to protect local youth to the streets. Today, members of the Peace for Change Alliance held a "Stop The Violence" rally. They stood on the corner of Fon du Lac and Capitol holding signs. All of this was to urge the drivers to "honk for peace."

Organizers say they just want kids to have a safe place to grow up and succeed. "We want to be more proactive than reactive, and we want to start now, going through the summer of trying to reduce the violence in our communities. Right now, we're just out here with children saying, enough is enough."

"Peace for Change" founder Tracey Dent is working with law enforcement on a number of fronts. That includes a menotiring initiative and the "Restorative Justice" program to help children.
