Milwaukee Public Schools close January 8, 2015

 Milwaukee Public Schools announced via Twitter all district schools will be closed on January 8, 2015. While students and teachers are off for the day employees at district headquarters, principals and assistant principals will report for work. Evening activities have also been canceled for all MPS schools. 

The district says this closure is in the best interest of the students. Milwaukee Public Schools was one of several schools who decided to stay open January 7 much to the ire of parents who took to Twitter to voice their complaints.

UPDATE: Due to the extremely cold weather conditions, all Racine Unified School District schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 8. All after school activities will also be canceled.
