MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Public Museum is looking to the future.
On Friday, the museum released images of what a new facility may look like.
The museum has been working with a local architect to come up with ideas.
The museum has also gathered community input by surveying more than 10,000 Wisconsinites throughout the state.
People with the museum say they need to expand because of how many students visit the museum every year.
"We have family activities. We do education, we host 120,000 school kids every year on buses so it is the most visited museum in the state. We expect that to continue as we move towards a new facility," said Dennis Kois, President and CEO of Milwaukee Public Museum,
More designs will be released this year. The museum hopes to break ground in 2022.
