Milwaukee Pro Soccer delays USL debut to 2026

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Pro Soccer will start its journey in the United Soccer League a year later than initially planned, now aiming for a 2026 kickoff.

The adjustment in the team's schedule was announced Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Conor Caloia, the Chief Operating Officer of Milwaukee Pro Soccer, elaborated on the decision in a press release on Wednesday.

"As the highest level of pro soccer in the state of Wisconsin, we know we only have one opening day, and we want to make sure we get that product, that fan experience, and our facilities right."

He expressed confidence that the stadium and fan experience will be "worth the wait," anticipating a successful inaugural season in 2026.

Milwaukee Pro Soccer is set to join the USL Championship, the second-highest tier of professional soccer in the United States, sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation.

The USL Championship features 27 clubs across major metropolitan markets and is recognized as the nation’s Division II professional league.
