Milwaukee Police: Suspect arrested after woman shot in the leg

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A suspect is in custody after police say a woman was shot on Milwaukee's north side. 

According to Milwaukee Police, a 30-year-old woman was walking in the area of 35th Street and W. Villard Avenue around 6:45 Thursday evening when she was shot in the leg by a suspect shooting from a vehicle. 

An MPD sergeant saw the suspect vehicle, stopped it, and arrested the suspect. A gun was also recovered. 

Investigators say the woman was treated at a local hospital and is expected to survive.
