Milwaukee police: Shooting, garage fire near 47th and Center unrelated

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating two unrelated incidents near N. 47th St. and W. Center St. 

Police were called to reports of a shooting around 8:45 p.m. on Thursday.

The victim, a 22-year-old man suffered a non-life threatening gunshot injury and was transported to a local hospital.  According to police, there was an altercation with the victim and the actor’s moments before shots were fired.

As police were searching for evidence, they came across a duplex garage on fire a block later. MPD called the Milwaukee Fire Department, and began evacuating occupants and neighbors as the garage became fully engulfed. MFD fully contained the fire, and initial investigation shows it was an electrical issue and non-criminal.
