Milwaukee Police Reporting Decrease in Homicides

Halfway through the year and there's a noticeable decrease in the number of homicides in Milwaukee compared to last year.
Milwaukee Police report 54 homicides to date.Â
There were 78 this time last year. Â
Police Chief Ed Flynn recently announced MPD’s summer policing policy that includes a goal to build on a neighborhood based data-driven plan.
There were 145 homicides in Milwaukee last year.
That is a 69% increase from 2014 and the highest number since 1993. Â
