Milwaukee Police Reporting Decrease in Homicides

Halfway through the year and there's a noticeable decrease in the number of homicides in Milwaukee compared to last year.

Milwaukee Police report 54 homicides to date. 

There were 78 this time last year.  

Police Chief Ed Flynn recently announced MPD’s summer policing policy that includes a goal to build on a neighborhood based data-driven plan.

There were 145 homicides in Milwaukee last year.

That is a 69% increase from 2014 and the highest number since 1993.
