The Milwaukee Police Department is currently investigating after two people were shot near 27th and Atkinson Monday morning. A 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were shot during an altercation shortly after 8 a.m. this morning. Both victims are believed to have suffered non-life threatening injuries.

This comes after a violent start to the Memorial Day weekend.

According to the Milwaukee Police, they are currently investigating at least 14 total different shootings that left 18 people shot including two children. Four people have now died from their injuries.

It all began Saturday, shortly after midnight when a 37-year-old man was shot in the 3700 block of N. 55th Street.

Later Saturday night, a 26-year-old man was shot shortly before 4 a.m. in the 2500 block of S. 13th Street during circumstances that remain unclear at this time.

A double non-fatal shooting then happened around noon on Saturday in the 5000 block of N. 22nd Street. A 30-year-old man and a 38-year-old man were part of a group that began to fight and shots were fired. 

A fatal shooting happened shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday in the 1900 block of N. 29th Street. A 37-year-old man was shot during an argument and died from his injuries.

A double shooting happened around 3 p.m. in the 34000 block of N. 67th Street. Two victims, a 7-year-old female and a 27-year-old female were injured. 

A non-fatal shooting happened around 8 p.m. in the 2900 block of N. 17th Street. A 29-year-old woman was shot during an argument.

A double non-fatal shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of W. Kaul Avenue. A fight broke out on the street and gunfire struck an 8-year-old male and a 27-year-old male.

A non-fatal shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the 2400 block of N. Buffum Street. A 30-year-old man was shot by a suspect in a passing vehicle. 

A fatal shooting happened around 10:45 in the 3000 block of N. 54th Street. A 29-year-old man was shot during circumstances that are still being investigated. He was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

A non-fatal shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning in the 1900 block of S. 35th Street. A 25-year-old man was shot during a fight and taken to a local hospital.

A fatal shooting happened Sunday evening around 5:30 in the 3500 block of W. Hampton Ave. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased 24-year-old female shooting victim. A suspect was arrested.

A fatal shooting happened Sunday around 9:30 p.m. in the 4700 block of N. Hopkins Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 31-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

The latest shooting was this morning near 27th and Atkinson, police are currently still looking for suspects. 

Police continue to investigate.
