MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police officers are giving back this holiday season.
They spent the morning playing Santa's elves, wrapping and loading presents into their cars for area kids. They took the presents to the Bethune Academy for a surprise holiday party.
After passing out the gifts, officers gave the kids cookies, cocoa, and other holiday treats.
"The kids were excited. To be able to see the kids excited, ecstatic and to know they actually got a gift they wanted is absolutely wonderful," said Officer Michael Jones with the Milwaukee Police Department.
Dozens of officers from District 3 donated the toys. Officers say they hope to expand the program to include other schools next year.
