Milwaukee Police Officer Suspended After Being Arrested for Striking Squad Car while Intoxicated

An off-duty Milwaukee Police officer struck a squad car on Saturday afternoon while intoxicated.

According to Milwaukee Police, the incident occurred around 4:20 PM  at 76th Street and West Florist Avenue.

The squad car was struck from behind by a vehicle as it was stopped at a red traffic signal. 

One officer in the vehicle, a 45-year old male, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a minor injury. 

The driver of the striking vehicle is a 48-year old female, who is a Milwaukee Police Officer with 22-years’ experience, and was off-duty. 

She was arrested for operating while intoxicated.  She has been suspended from MPD.  

 The squad sustained moderate rear-end damage.
