Milwaukee Police Officer, his father find nurses's wedding ring buried in the snow

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A happy ending for a visiting nurse who lost her wedding ring.

A Milwaukee Police Officer and his father are now being commended for going "above and beyond to help find an item that had such sentimental meaning."

Around 12:45 p.m. on Friday, a 44-year-old Brookfield woman entered the police department to file a Lost Property report.

The woman, who is a traveling nurse, lost her wedding ring in the 100 block of W. Bruce Street on Thursday. The woman had searched the area but was unable to find the ring.

Officer Jason Schneider took the woman's report and enlisted the help of his father who owns a metal detector.

After more than an hour, they found the ring in the snow and returned it to the woman.
