MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee police officer was taken into custody for an incident related to a sexual assault investigation.
The St. Francis Police Department confirmed the officer, who has served almost two years with MPD, was arrested without incident on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
St. Francis police are not naming the officer, but did disclose he is assigned to MPD District 3.
Authorities say the incident occurred while the officer was off-duty at his St. Francis home.
St. Francis police have been in contact with the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office who will be reviewing this case for potential charges.
The officer is currently being held in the Milwaukee County Jail.
