Milwaukee police officer arrested in connection with child abuse investigation

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee Police Department officer was arrested in connection with an alleged child abuse case. 

Police said Wednesday, Jan. 17, just before 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a hospital for a child abuse investigation. 

Officials say a 7-year-old child sustained non-fatal injuries and received treatment. 

According to police, the suspect is a Milwaukee police officer who was placed on full suspension. 

Criminal charges are being referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
