Milwaukee Police investigating shots fired incident near homecoming game at Custer Stadium

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Public Schools released this statement on the incident:

Shots were fired across the street from the school. Staff immediately secured the stadium and police were already present, as a precautionary measure, due to the large crowd. The incident happened right before the end of the first half. The game has since resumed and the situation has returned to normal.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police are currently investigating a shots fired incident that happened near Custer Stadium at 44th and Fairmount.

According to police, Rufus King High School is playing their homecoming game against Riverside University High School at the stadium.

Police say the game will go on as scheduled.

No injuries have been reported.

Milwaukee Police are still in the area investigating.
