Milwaukee Police tell CBS 58 they responded to at least 500 complaint calls for fireworks on July 4. As of the morning on July 5 all of the citations have not been answered.

In Milwaukee all fireworks are illegal, not just those that leave the ground. Anything that emits smoke, a bang or a sparkle could cost you up to $1,000 in fines. A similar ban is in place in Waukesha.
