Milwaukee Police Department mourns loss of police K9

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department mourns the passing of a young police K9 Monday.

"Agu" served with his partner, Officer Daniel Smokovich, for five and a half years. 

Police say the K9 was trained in patrol work as well as narcotics and firearms detection. 

Agu passed away due to complications with cancer.

In a Facebook post, MPD says "his energetic spirit and hard work will be missed."
