MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The City of Milwaukee is getting millions of dollars to serve infants and toddlers in underserved neighborhoods.

Two community organizations received $13.5 million in federal grants. The money will be used for education and support services for early childhood programs.

Officials say the goal is to make all children ready to learn before they enter kindergarten.

Next Door Foundation and United Community Center were awarded the funding. The funding will serve more than 1,000 babies and toddlers.
