MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Changes are coming to Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport in the next year.
At an announcement on Wednesday, airport and county officials said 22 restaurants and stores will be transformed into new retail.
The changes are part of a $7 million plan that isn’t using any taxpayer money. Stores like Brooks Brothers and the PGA Tour Shop will be replaced by Cousins Subs, a Miller store, a Summerfest store and several other shops named after the city’s neighborhoods.
Milwaukee County executive Chris Abele said there’s an emphasis on local brands.
“You’re going to see more local brands, you’re going to see more national brands, you’re going to see more options and a more refreshed build-out,” he said. “Everybody walking through this airport is going to have more to shop, more to appreciate about the local community.”
