MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said he’s seen the body camera video from Milwaukee Police after a 4-year-old girl was found inside a van in a tow lot Tuesday morning.

MPD has not released the body camera video.

“I don’t want to prejudge it for anyone. I want them to take a look at it themselves,” said Mayor Barrett.

On Tuesday, Blair Springfield was taken into custody for OWI. Her 10-month old baby was taken out of the van but officials failed to find the 4-year-old also in the car.

The car was taken to the city tow lot with the young girl inside. She was discovered eight hours later.

“The police department and the Department of Public Works are going to examine it obviously there are a lot of adults involved and there are different behaviors for different adults and I think people will draw their own conclusions,” Barrett said.

Child Protective Services is caring for the young girl. CBS 58 got a tip that the family is fighting for custody.

The district attorney said charges against the mom are pending further investigation.

“I want people to know that we take it very seriously and it will not happen again,” Barrett said.
