Milwaukee Mayor fears Wisconsin voting rights under attack

MILWAUKEE- Sunday, Mayor Tom Barrett and a large group of others spoke against Senate Bill 324.

The bill limits voting in-person by absentee ballots to 45 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Mayor Barrett said the bill's goal is to disenfranchise Democratic voters, specifically minorities.

Milwaukee Common Council President Michael Murphy called on Governor Walker to stop the bill in its tracks

The bill's co-author, Republican State Senator Glenn Grothman, said this is about uniformity for communities across the state.

He said that the notion his motivation is to disenfranchise voters and create long lines is wrong.

SB 324 is up for a vote in the Senate on Tuesday.
