Milwaukee Man shot on West National Avenue in West Allis

West Allis Police Department received a report of an altercation in the 9500 block of W. National Ave on Tuesday around 3:30 PM.

During the altercation, one individual fired a gunshot which struck another involved individual in the leg.

An off-duty West Allis Police Officer observed the shooting, intervened and took the suspected shooter into custody.

The victim of the shooting, a 29 year old male from Milwaukee, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of apparent non-life threatening injuries.

The suspected shooter is a 20 year old male. No other individuals were taken into custody and at this time the WAPD is not searching for any other suspects.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
