Milwaukee man sentenced to 30 years in prison for fatally shooting 67-year-old

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 42-year-old man who pleaded guilty to a fatal shooting that happened in 2025, has learned his fate. 

In court on Wednesday, Oct. 7, a judge sentenced Linwood Craine to 30 years in prison. 

The shooting happened in broad daylight on July 25, 2025, near 6th and Hayes. Milwaukee police say a 67-year-old was killed. 

Surveillance video reportedly showed a man matching Craine’s description confronting the victim shortly before the shooting. Witnesses told detectives the suspect lived nearby.

Craine was arrested later that day after allegedly entering a stranger’s garage. Police recovered a 9mm handgun inside. He reportedly denied involvement but admitted to being at the scene.
