Milwaukee man arrested in prostitute related armed robbery

 Milwaukee police are investigating an early morning robbery that took place near the intersection of S. 18th St. and W. Greenfield Ave. Police say a 44-year-old Milwaukee man was robbed at gun point, and the armed robber took the victim's 31-year-old female acquaintance as he made his escape.

According to police, a 23-year-old suspect armed with a handgun robbed a 44-year-old man of his money. The 31-year-old woman, police believe to be an acquaintance of the male victim, was held against her will in the suspect's minivan as he made his escape.

Officers spotted the robbery suspect's minivan near S. 16th St. and W. Lincoln Ave. about 30 minutes after the armed robbery took place. The suspect sped away from police and struck another person's vehicle near S. 4th St. and W. Becher St. Police were able to bring the suspect's vehicle to a stop near S. 8th St. and W. Windlake Ave.

The 23-year-old male suspect led police on a short foot chase before being arrested. The 31-year-old woman was found inside the minivan unharmed along with the handgun used in the initial armed robbery.

Police believe this incident was prostitution related, and are still investigating.
