Milwaukee seeks community partners to help curb reckless driving

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The city of Milwaukee is looking to put an end to reckless driving after two people launched their cars off the interstate in the area.

According to Milwaukee police, there were 38 reckless driving citations issues from Jan. 1-Feb. 22. During the same period in 2020, 89 citations were issued and during 2019, 41 citations were issued.

The city is looking for local groups to back a new grant program.

It is a unique way to raise awareness on the dangers of reckless driving, and increase outreach among older kids and teens, as well as make changes to streets and intersections.
