Milwaukee is the 2nd most commuter-friendly metro area in the US, report says

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We can all get frustrated with traffic on the way to or from work. But it turns out, Milwaukee is about as commuter friendly as it gets for big cities. 

A new report shows Milwaukee is the second most commuter-friendly metro area in the country and the best in the Midwest. 

The average commuter in Metro Milwaukee needs 22 minutes one way to get to work -- three minutes less than the national average. And only 3% of commuters here spend more than an hour on the road getting to or from work. 

Commuting in Milwaukee is easy on the wallet, too. According to the report by Yardi Kube, it costs 1.6% of the average person's income tied for best in the U.S.
