Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Nyla
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Thousands of people marched for women's rights on International Women's Day, on Saturday, March 8.
A rally and march were hosted by the Milwaukee International Women's Day Coalition.
Some of their demands include defending women's reproductive rights, immigrant's rights, and the working women and her right to organize.
After the march, activists talked about women's liberation at a panel discussion. They marched from Red Arrow Park to Turner Hall.
The co-chair of the Milwaukee International Woman's Day Coalition told us their message today.
"Women are not going back. We're standing up, we're taking a fighting role in the struggle and we're going to be in the streets," said Kayla Patterson, co-chair of the Milwaukee International Woman's Day Coalition.
There was also a social hour and makers market with vendors, showing off their products.
