Milwaukee groups urge voters to focus on affordability, immigration ahead of primary

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — With Wisconsin's primary election less than a week away, community and labor leaders gathered in Milwaukee on Thursday to discuss issues they say are affecting voters across the state.

The news conference was led by Voces de la Frontera and the Service Employees International Union, with speakers focusing on the cost of living and immigration.

Christine Neumann-Ortiz, executive director of Voces de la Frontera, said voters should research the candidates and issues before casting their ballots.

"There is a lot on the line in these elections for everyone," Neumann-Ortiz said. "There are different positions, and it is important for people to inform themselves and do research in order to make sure they go out and vote in their interest."

Early voting for the primary remains underway.
